Metallized labels

Metalized labels are also called aluminum foils. Aluminum foils are a non-absorbent, odorless, non-toxic, completely opaque material. These are labels resistant to most solvents, oils, fats, waxes, gases and food products. Labels resistant to very high temperatures, UV radiation, dirt, dust and chemicals. They ensure product identification even after many years (long-lasting labels). In order to improve the mechanical and barrier properties of aluminum foils, they are laminated with plastic films. Aluminum is an electronegative metal. Despite this, it exhibits high durability and resistance to atmospheric conditions because its surface is always covered with a layer of oxides that regenerates almost immediately when damaged. Adhesives are constructed in such a way that they can be removed from the marked product for a short period of time, corrected and only after 24 hours the adhesive begins to bind permanently like a so-called droplet, making them difficult to remove stickers and difficult-to-tear labels. Typical labels used for permanent marking are made of PET film with an aluminum-colored metallized coating, sometimes mistakenly thought to be pure aluminum. The pure aluminum layer with adhesive is not durable enough to tear and therefore is not used for permanent marking.

Although it seems that the labels should stick so strongly to all surfaces that they cannot be removed. Unfortunately, this is not the case in practice. Different surfaces require tested adhesives and materials and the raw material must always be selected for a given application. Therefore, it is very important for the customer to specify their expectations regarding the durability of the label material surface and the adhesion of the adhesive to a given surface. Only the knowledge and experience of the company and the salesman allow for the selection of the best solution for specific expectations.

Is there a construction of the raw material and adhesive that makes it impossible to remove the label? From our experience, there is no such label that cannot be removed in any way, but there are better and worse solutions that meet specific expectations.

APPLICATION WITH ADHESIVE.

• SPECIAL, strong, UV-resistant, modified acrylic adhesive. Designed specifically for film materials where strong adhesion with good temperature and chemical resistance is required. The minimum temperature after labeling is -40 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature after labeling is 150 degrees Celsius. This adhesive contains a certificate for direct contact with dry and moist non-greasy food. Under appropriate storage conditions, this adhesive has a 2-year durability guarantee. It is recommended to check the adhesion to the appropriate surfaces. This adhesive requires a minimum of 24 hours to obtain its properties.

To improve the mechanical properties of aluminum foil it is laminated to paper and plastic films.
